The chiropractic society of Rhode Island is working on passing senate bill 2588, which will for the first time include Chiropractic in the 2023 Medicaid budget.
Rhode Island is the only state in New England to not include chiropractic in a Medicaid budget. Currently our few plans that are providing care do so under the umbrella of the insurance organization, not Medicaid. We have been working closely with Senator Louis DiPalma and folks at Neighborhood Health Plan. If we can pass this bill, we will not only address the fundamental need to provide chiropractic access to our more vulnerable populations and thereby address equity in our healthcare system.
